♦AGUARDENTE MOSCA♦
WINE BRANDY
“Mosca” (“The Fly”) was launched in 1937 as a brandy (Aguardente), and lived until the mid 80’s. It was, throughout its history, one of the most famous and prestigious spirits in Portugal. “Mosca” is aged in old wooden casks used in the aging of Moscatel. The relaunch of this brand intends to recover and preserve an old tradition of José Maria da Fonseca in the field of special brandies. “Mosca” sees itself as a unique product and, as a unique brand, which aims to become again a reference in the market. José Maria da Fonseca is the oldest and one of the most prestigious wineries in Portugal, producing wines, Port and Setúbal Moscatel. With over 650 hectares of land under vine in our main wine regions: Douro, Alentejo and Terras do Sado, José Maria Fonseca also boasts Portugal’s largest winery, with capacity to produce 6.5 million litres of wine in a totally computerised operation.
