Moscatel de Setúbal is a treasure among Portuguese wines and José Maria da Fonseca is one of the most recognized and oldest producer. In collaboration with renowned director Matthew Vaughn and his Kingsman brand, José Maria da Fonseca presents an exclusive and rare 500 bottle limited edition, the Moscatel Kingsman Century Edition 1919.

For those who know Vaughn’s blockbuster Kingsman movies, the luxury partnerships under his Kingsman brand, or that consider themselves connoisseurs of these type of rare and exquisite fortified wines, the Moscatel Kingsman Century Edition 1919 is a wine you don´t want to miss.

The participation in this project, according to António Soares Franco, executive director of José Maria da Fonseca, is a unique opportunity: “This collaboration celebrates heritage, luxury and unique craftsmanship, which is the hallmark of Kingsman as a premium label, and continues the long legacy of José Maria da Fonseca wines. We are excited to collaborate with Matthew on this Kingsman edition Moscatel. His latest film, The King’s Man, is set during WW1 and this Moscatel is a special release from 1919; a natural match. We are a wine producer with almost 200 years of activity. Our Moscatel de Setúbal was consumed in the main royal houses in Europe”.

This exclusive wine is presented in a premium glass decanter with a high standard gold stopper, gold and frosted silkscreen and hand written numbered in each of the 500 bottles. It also comes with a beautiful presentation box.

During the last 100 years, this wine aged in 575 liters of used oak barrel in José Maria da Fonseca's cellar Adega dos Teares Velhos, in Azeitão. Now, the company has decided to fill 500 bottles of this brilliant wine to share with the world.

This moscatel is originated from vineyards planted in the clay lime soils of Serra da Arrábida. Although there isn’t much more details regarding the 1919 agricultural year, this was surely a very good year, given the high quality shown by this wine. Taste a unique history within its very long finish and balanced aroma of dry fruits, coffee, black tea, toasted bread and matured pineapple. It is an eccentric but soft wine with excellent sugar-acidity balance.
